As Mba, Other DIGs Retire
- Safiu Kehinde
The newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, has arrived at the Presidential Villa ahead of his decoration by President Bola Tinubu.
This is coming barely 24 hours after Tinubu announcement of his appointment following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun.
NPO Reported that Egbetokun had stepped down from his role, citing family reasons.
The development had prompted the President to appoint Disu who is set to take over the role in acting capacity.
Video shared on X on Wednesday captured moment the new police chief arrived at the Villa.
Meanwhile, the appointment of Disu has led to the retirement of Frank Mba and about other Deputy Inspectors-General of Police.
This is reportedly in line with the tradition that senior officers vacate their positions when a junior colleague gets appointed as the IGP.
