The Presidency has debunked reports alleging arrest an Aso Rock chef over attempt to poison President Bola Tinubu.
This followed the circulation of a now viral video report claiming the chef who is a member of kitchen staff attached to presidential services was taken into custody for questioning after swift intervention a Special Police Squad.
The development had, according to the post triggered heightened security measures with the presidential environment.
According to post, the investigation and gathered intelligence which led to the discovery of the plot was carried out discreetly by specialised security personnel tasked with protecting national leadership.
Reacting in a post shared on his X handle on Sunday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, deniedthe occurrence of such incident at the Presidential Villa.
Onanuga stated that no kitchen staff was arrested and there was attempt to poison Tinubu.
The Presisdential aide urged members of the public to ignore what he labelled fake news.
“No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to poison President Tinubu.
“Please ignore this fake news being disseminated by this video.” He wrote.
