The Senate has commenced the screening of ministerial appointee, Taiwo Oyedele, following his ministerial appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
NPO Reported that Tinubu had last week nominated Oyedele, the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, as the Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite.
Oyedele’s appointment however requires the Senate’s approval and validation, prompting the President’s letter which was addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The ministerial appointee would on Wednesday appear before the red chamber.
He is currently being screened by the lawmakers.
While appreciating Tinubu as well as the lawmakers for the privilege granted to him, Oyedele expressed confidence in his wealth of experience which he maintained will significantly aid his contribution to the fiscal and economic decision of Nigerian government.
