Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has been sighted admiring the bird’s eye view of the magnificent Kabbah.
This is coming hours after he was granted access by the Saudi Arabian authorities to pray at a special spot considered as Prophet Mohammed’s (SAW) favourite spot at the Holy Mosque.
Asake, in the latest video of his ongoing Lesser Hajj pilgrimage posted on his TikTok handle, could be seen admiring the monumental Holy Kabbah surrounded by hundreds of other pilgrims.
The singer had joined other Muslim faithful to participate in the lesser Hajj also known as Umrah which falls on the Ramadan month.
The Kabbah which stands at the centre of Masjid Al-Haram, the Great Mosque of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, reportedly carries huge importance in Islam.
Its name means “cube” in Arabic, which fits perfectly since it is a square building draped in a smooth black cotton and silk cover.
Largely considered by Muslims to be the house of God, the Kabbah is also said to be the holiest site in Islam and Muslims throughout the world face the Kabbah when they perform their prayers.
As against some insinuations that Muslims worship the Kaba, they rather pray toward the holy monument’s direction and not to it.
