The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on National Planning, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s planned visit to Ogun state, describing the development as symbolic.
He also said it is a testament to the strong bond between his administration and the people of Ogun state.
Tinubu is reportedly set to arrive in Ogun on Thursday for the official commissioning of the Gateway International Airport and other projects undertaken by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
In a statement issued on Wednesday ahead of the President’s arrival in the state, Isiaka expressed his delight with the President’s planned presence in the state.
The Ogun lawmaker lauded the Tinubu-led administration over its dedication to the development of the country.
“On behalf of the good people of Ogun State, I, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka,GNI, welcome our dear President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Gateway State.
“On the auspicious occasion of this visit, I wish to state without any doubt that this visit re-assures our hardworking people that Nigeria has never had it so good having a President with so much passion and dedication to the development of the country.
“Need we state that to the glory of God, Nigeria, under your able watch, has turned the corner from the precipice that we found ourselves after decades of challenged leadership.” Isiaka wrote.
The Ogun lawmaker thereafter described the visit as symbolic and testament of the President’s strong bond Ogun state where he made the famous Emi Lokan proclamation during the 2023 Presidential campaign.
“Mr. President, this visit is not only symbolic but also a testament to the strong bond between your administration and the good people of Ogun State.
“Was it not on our soil that you made that decisive and prophetic proclamation (Emi Lokan); a proclamation that we all keyed into and believed got God’s stamp for what Nigerians today enjoy as progressive leadership.
“We are confident that your engagements here will further strengthen our shared goals and bring tangible benefits to our communities.” He wrote.
Isiaka further noted that Tinubu’s visit to the state will serve as a reaffirmation of his commitment to national unity and economic progress, adding that Ogun state is also committed to supporting his Renewed Hope Agenda to drive sustainable growth and development.
“Mr. President, Ogun State stands as a beacon of enterprise, resilience, and cultural heritage.
“Today, your presence among us reaffirms your unwavering commitment to national unity, economic progress, and the prosperity of every Nigerian.
