The four policemen who were captured in a viral video forcing motorists to a secret location for search are set face disciplinary action over their conduct.
This was made known in a statement issued on the Nigerian Police Complaint Response Unit (CRU)on Saturday.
Attached to the statement was picture of the four erring officers taken after being summoned by the unit for interrogation.
According to the Police CRU, the incident involving two motorists and the officers attached to the Satellite Division under the Lagos State Police Command occurred in May 2025.
The video was however posted on X last week Saturday.
As seen in the video, the police had stopped the men’s vehicle while demand they follow them with their bags to a secret location along the road for search.
One of the motorists however challenged the officers as he insisted on being searched on the spot where they were stopped.
He was however harassed by the officers on arrival at the secret location with one of them threatening him.
“See I no wan slap you o. When I join police, dem never born you. You know say you be fine boy.
“Instead of you to cool down, you want make dem loose guard you?” The officer said with subsequent distorted clip of the video indicating moment the motorist was assaulted as he was heard demanding to be freed.
The Police CRU disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Division was summoned alongside the officers who are now bound disciplinary action.
It however maintained that investigation is still ongoing over the incident.
