The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has again accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plot to sabotage a national summit slated to hold in Ibadan, Oyo state, by all opposition political leaders.
ADC Vanguard, the opposition party’s coalition mobilisation wing, made the allegation in a post shared on its X handle on Friday.
The group claimed to have uncovered plans by the APC to disrupt the even set to hold today.
It however affirmed that the opposition parties will not be deterred with the alleged plans.
“We have uncovered plans by the ruling APC to disrupt the summit being held by the opposition parties in Ibadan, Oyo State, today, 25th of April.
“After denying us the use of venues in Abuja, they now will not leave us alone to hold our meetings.
“They say they are not scared, but they are behaving like people who are terrified. But we will not be deterred, because we are on the side of the Nigerian people.” The post read.
Attached to the post is a flier of the summit which had the theme; “That we may work together for a united opposition to sustain our democracy”.
The event slated to commence by 10am had former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, as the Chairman of the Occasion with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as its Chief Host.
The keynote speaker includes Prof. Chidi Odinkalu and Dr. Usman Burage who will both be speaking on ‘Challenges of Sustainable Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria’.
Also to deliver a keynote speech is Barr. Mike Igini who will speak on the topic ‘Ensuring free, fair, and credible election in Nigeria’.
Former presidential aspirant, Prof. Pat Utomi will also be joining the keynote speakers as he will deliver speech on ‘Building a Productive, Dynamic, and Efficient National Economy for Nigeria: Which way forward?’ with Dr. Kabiru Adamu speaking on ‘The Tragedy of Widespread Insecurity in Nigeria.’
