The Ogun State Police Command has unveiled a digital police station.
The mobile application known as the Gateway Shield was created to improve emergency response and strengthen public safety through technology-driven policing.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command’s Public Relations Officer, announced the unveiling of the app in a video posted on X on Wednesday
According to Babaseyi, the platform allows residents to report incidents anonymously.
He disclosed that the Gateway Shield also contain a real-time geo-tagging feature that helps police operatives respond swiftly and accurately to emergencies across Ogun State.
In the video, Babaseyi highlighted three ways on how to access the digital police station.
“We have three ways of accessing the gateway shield application.”
“You can access it through the phone number which is toll free. That means you don’t pay anything when you call the number. We bear the cost. That is 08000009111.
“You can access it via the website which is www.thegatewayshield.com.
“Another way you can access it is through downloading it on the app store for iPhone users and on the play store for android users.” He said.
Oluseyi further said that the digital police station has helped them to leverage communication between the police and the public.
He also said that the police will continue to do what needs to be done with the mantra, “see something, say something, and we will do something.”
