The police have arrested a vulcaniser and his friend over alleged rape and murder of a Nursing student, Wendy Achumba, in Imo State.
Achumba was reportedly found dead in her apartment on Friday with her throat slitted.
The incident occurred in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo state with the police swiftly commencing investigation over the murder.
In an update on the incident, the police apprehended the two suspects linked to the murder.
While being interrogated, the suspects confessed raping Achumba and murdering her.
According to a post shared on X on Saturday, night, the vulcaniser, whose name was not disclosed allegedly mobilised his friends to the nursing student’s apartment, who he claimed to have rejected his advances.
Achumba was alleged murdered after recognising one of the men during the assault.
“At night, the man who is a vulcanizer went with his friends to where the girl lives…they took turn in raping her and during the struggle.
“The girl recognized one of them and even gave him a mark on the neck…then they decided to slit her throat, lock her door back quietly and left.” The post read.
Video attached to the post showed the two suspects handcuffed and ushered into a bus.
However, the arrest of the suspects is yet to be officially confirmed by the Imo State Police Command.
