Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared President Bola Tinubu winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary election held in the state.
NPO Reported that the APC had on Saturday held a nationwide primary for the presidential ticket.
Despite wide endorsement of Tinubu, the party was prompted to adopt direct primaries over the refusal of aspirant, Stanley Osifor, to withdraw from the race.
Ahead of the primaries, Tinubu travelled to Lagos to cast his vote at his ward.
Announcing the result of the election, Sanwo-Olu, who served as the Collation Officer, declared Tinubu winner with 814,988 votes.
Osifor on the other hand polled 1,186 votes.
“I, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Collation Officer of the 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primaries for Lagos State, hereby present the result for the state as follows.
“Total registered party members, 900,553. Total number of accredited voters, 816,174. Total number of vote cast, 816,174.
“At the end of the voting exercise, the aspirants scored the following votes.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has 814,988 votes. Stanlry Osifo scored 1,186 votes.’ The Lagos governor announced.
