The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced accreditation and voting exercise across several polling units in Ekiti State as the 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election goes underway.
NPO Reported that INEC had earlier deployed its personnel and election materials across the state.
While the election was slated to commence on 8:30am, several polling units already had voters waiting at the poll for the commencement of the election.
The INEC officials would kickstart the exercise at the scheduled time at some of the polling units while others started few minutes after 8:30am.
At RA 2, Polling Unit 015, Ado Ekiti Local Government Area, accreditation and voting exercise commenced at exactly 8:30am.
The election is currently holding across 177 Wards in the state with 1.02 million registered voters expected to vote.
