The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended a wanted couple over alleged connection with a seized 117 kilograms of skunk.
Th couple identified as 48-year-old James Chukwudi, and his 35-year-old wife, James Kehinde, were arrested on Tuesday at Oniyo street at Efon Alaaye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, after months on the run.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi.
According to Babafemi, the suspects have been on run since the 26th of March 2026.
In another operation in Kogi state on Friday, NDLEA officers on patrol along Okene/Lokoja highway also intercepted a 33-year-old suspect Tochukwu Onah.

The suspect who was coming from Lagos to Abuja was found with 1.030kg methamphetamine concealed in custard containers.
In Oyo state, 75-year-old Tudun Olubiyi and two others: Nasiru Buhari, 22; and Buba Musa, 47, were arrested by NDLEA operatives when their house located in Dangote area, Elekara, Oyo town, was raided on Saturday 20th June.
Recovered in the house were 118 jumbo bags containing 1,416kg skunk covered with sawdust recovered.
Earlier on Wednesday, the NDLEA also recorded another operation success when a suspect Patrick Imoukhede, 45, was arrested during a raid on the Khagba forest, Ikao, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The NDLEA operatives destroyed 1,744.075kg skunk and recovered already processed 169kg of same substance.
Another raid at Ebora Camp, Ilushi in Esan South LGA led to the destruction of 2,424.945kg of cannabis, with a suspect Augustine Anyamone, 45, apprehended with 395kg skunk in a separate operation in the area.
