The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has on Wednesday arrived in court after being sent to Kuje Correctional Centre.
Sowore arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday at about 11 a.m., accompanied by heavy security.
NPO Reported that the DSS is prosecuting Sowore for allegedly making false claims against the person of President Bola Tinubu by referring to him as “a criminal” in a post he made on his “X” and Facebook account.
Justice Umar, last week revoked his bail after ruling that he failed to appear for trial proceedings, and subsequently issued a bench warrant for his arrest following an oral application by counsel to the Department of State Services (DSS), Akinkolu Kehinde, (SAN).
During his trial on Monday, Justice Umar ordered that Sowore be held in custody pending the hearing and determination of a motion seeking to stay the execution of earlier orders revoking his bail and issuing a bench warrant for his arrest.
Hardly had he moved out of the courtroom that some officials of the Directorate of State Security (DSS) swooped on him and moving to seize him from Correction Centre officials.
Sowore charged at the DSS officials calling them abductors.
He insisted that the order of the court was for him to be remanded in prison and not DSS custody.
