The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of three suspects linked to the murder of retired Nigerian broadcaster, Olakitan Oyeskiu.
NPO Reported that Oyesiku was found dead alongside her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, at her residence at Iyana Agodo Village on Sunday.
The former OGTV staff was gruesomely murdered by suspected gunmen who stormed her residence.
The assailant fled with the late broadcaster’s vehicle following the crime.
Following the incident, the Ogun police embarked on investigation which initially led to the recovery of the stolen car.
The arrest of the suspects was disclosed by the Ogun Commissioner, Bode Ojajuni, during a Press Conference on Wednesday.
According to Ojajuni, further investigation at the murder scene led to the recovery of a handwritten note.
The exhibit was subjected to forensic analysis and provided leads that aided the arrest of the three suspects identified as Sodeinde Phillips (22), Sakirudeen Ayoola (27), and Sobu Obafunso (36).
Ojajuni said Sodeinde, who is the principal suspect was arrested on Wednesday at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, where he worked as a laborer.
Follow-up operations led to the arrest of Sakirudeen, a security guard, and Sobu, a bricklayer.
During interrogation, Sodeinde confessed recuriting Sakirudeen and Sobu to carry out the murder.
He told investigators he had worked as a security guard for Oyesiku and planned the attack after a disagreement with her.
