Shell Companies in Nigeria has highlighted its contributions to the country’s energy sector at the Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week Conference and Exhibition in Abuja, highlighting its investments in deepwater operations, integrated gas, renewable energy and power.
The exhibition, held as part of the 25th edition of the conference themed “Advancing Energy Ambitions for Competitive and Resilient Economies,” traces Shell’s more than six decades of operations in Nigeria and its impact on the country’s economy, indigenous capacity development and community development initiatives.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, on Wednesday visited the Shell exhibition stand alongside the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Bayo Ojulari, and other dignitaries.
The delegation was taken on a tour of the exhibition by Shell’s Business Value Manager, Chidi Nkazi, who highlighted the company’s operations, including Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited, Shell Nigeria Gas, All On and Daystar Power.
Nkazi also referenced the recent $3 billion contract finance facility signed by SNEPCo with nine leading Nigerian banks, describing it as part of the company’s efforts to strengthen the capacity of indigenous contractors and service providers in the country’s oil and gas industry.
He added that SNEPCo was making steady progress on the implementation of the Bonga North and HI projects, for which Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) were taken in December 2024 and October 2025, respectively.
According to Nkazi, Shell’s impact extends beyond its exhibition at the conference.
“The Shell Nigeria story goes beyond what is displayed at this exhibition stand and manifests daily in the funds we generate which finance development and in the lives we positively impact through our social interventions,” he said.
He added that the company would continue to work closely with NNPC Ltd, its partners and other stakeholders to support Nigeria’s development and advance progress in the energy sector.
