The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned former Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over alleged certificate forgery and money laundering.
Nnaji was reportedly arraigned before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court Abuja.
The 63-year-old politician was dragged to the court on a six-count charge.
His arraignment is coming barely two weeks after Nnaji’s arrest.
NPO Reported that the ex-minister was apprehended by security operatives while preparing to board a chartered flight to Abuja on the 1st of July.
Recall that the court had on the 13th of June ordered the arrest of the Nnaji over the alleged certificate forgery scandal which led to his resignation.
This followed ex parte motion filed by the ICPC in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1160/2026.
In its ruling, the court granted the ICPC’s request for a warrant of arrest after the commission informed the court that Nnaji had repeatedly failed to honour its invitations for questioning.
Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the ICPC’s counsel, informed the court that the application became necessary due to Nnaji’s refusal to cooperate with ongoing investigations into allegations that he falsified his academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) credentials.
The commission also sought, and obtained, approval to declare the former minister wanted across national newspapers, social media platforms, and other public channels.
In addition, the court authorised law enforcement operatives, as well as private citizens, to identify and apprehend Nnaji and hand him over to the commission for investigation.
The court ruled that the arrest warrant would remain in effect until the former minister is apprehended.
