The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, was on Tuesday evening filled with emotions as rescued kidnap students and teachers were reunited with their respective families.
NPO Reported that the families of the rescued victims had earlier in the day arrived at the hospital as they awaited the release of their wards.
The victims, comprising of 39 students and five teachers, were on Monday handed over to the state government in Ibadan by the Nigerian army.
The victims were initially transferred to the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army’s military hospital for medical treatment following their rescue on Friday evening after 56 days in captivity.
After hours of waiting, the medical staff of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital and the state government officials commenced handing over of the rescued victims to their families.
Videos shared on X captured emotional moment the parents of the students were called in one after the other to identify their wards.
