The Federal Government has fulfilled its promises to the Super Falcons ahead of their Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title defence in Morocco.
The Super Falcons had earlier this month arrived at the north African country where they clinched their 10th WAFCON title last year.
Ahead of their group opener against Malawi, the FG handed the team the promised reward of their title winning campaign.
This was disclosed in a post shared on X on Tuesday by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
According to the post, the National Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman Shehu Dikko and the NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, visited the Nigerian female national team in rabat, Casablanca.
They presented the 2025 WAFCON triumph rewards promised by the FGN to the Super Falcons with picture showing the team’s captain receiving the reward concealed in a parcel.
While the content of the parcel was not disclosed, it could however be recalled that President Bola Tinubu had at the grand reception of the Super Falcons last year conferred the honour of the Order of the Niger (OON) on the entire team and the crew members.
Tinubu also gifted the team a three-bedroom apartment each at the Renewed Hope estate.
The President further granted $100,000 cash award to each of the players while members of the technical crew were gifted $50,000 each.
