Alleges Purchasing Adeleke’s Nomination Form in 2022
- Safiu Kehinde
Oluwole Oke, the Director-General of the Osun State All Progressives Congress Campaign Committee has expressed confidence in the emergence of the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, as the next governor of the state as he claimed that the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, will be removed with the same tactics that brought him to power.
Oke claimed being responsible for introducing Adeleke, who he labelled a crippled man, to Osun people, alleging that he brought the nomination form for Adeleke in 2022.
The House of Representatives member representing Ijesa-North Federal Constituency made this known while addressing the party’s supporters during a campaign rally on Monday.
While apologising to Osun residents for his contribution to Adeleke’s emergence as governor, Oke, in a video shared on X, maintained that the APC currently controls both the Federal and local level of government which he claimed will aid their victory in the governorship election.
‘We are the ones who offended you and we must apologise for that.
‘I’m the one who introduced Adeleke to you. I’m the one who brought the crippled man.
‘Many of you don’t know this, I brought the form he used to contest. It is the same tactics we used in bringing the crippled man to power that will be deployed in taking him out.
‘In case you don’t notice, out of the three levels of government, we control two. We control both the Federal and local government.
‘We are just left with the one at the middle. Ademola himself knows that when you get to the government house, you won’t see anybody there. They are now evacuating.’ He said.
The Osun APC Campaign DG thereafter revisited the Osun Civil Service Payroll scandal, alleging that the Adeleke-led administration defrauded the state with employment of ghost workers, citing the report of the Lagos-based auditing firm, Sally Tabbot.
‘The fraud they played on Osun that you don’t know, I will tell you now.
‘It was Ademola himself that secured the service of one consultant to audit the register of civil servants in the state and their salary.
‘When the lady completed the audit, she disclosed that N13.7 billion is stolen from the workers’ salary every month. It implicated one of them and they went to the EFCC.
‘You see the voucher they use in paying workers’ salaries, the moment they sign it, they will use it to withdraw money from the government’s purse and take it to a bank called Union.
‘From there, they will pay the workers money and cart away the rest. That was where we discovered that it is not just N13 billion is being stolen every month but N26 billion.
‘Calculate that amount from the day Adeleke got to power till today and you will how much they’ve stolen.’ Oke said.
However, a brief fact-check by NPO Reports noticed discrepancies between Oke’s claim and the report of the audit firm.
As against the Osun APC Campaign DG’s claim of N13.7 billion every month, the auditing firm’s CEO, Saadat Ottun, disclosed in an interview in February 2026 that the firm identified over 8,000 ghost workers during the audit with about N13.7 billion paid to them as salaries annually.
“Of these 39,456 workers, 8,452 did not show up and the amount of money being used to pay those is N1.143 billion every month. And that amounts to over N13.7 billion a year.“ The auditing firm’s CEO had said in the interview.
Meanwhile, Oke further accused Adeleke of mismanagement of the state’s command of the Amotekun Corps.
‘When the past administration stablished Amotekun, the operational vehicles donated to the outfit is what they are still using till now.
‘They claimed to have spent N14.9 billion on Amotekun.
‘Our sons and daughters in Amotekun have been deployed to Omotosho to in Ondo State to guard their plants. How many youths have Ademola employed since he got to power?’ He asked.
