Nigerian afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known Davido, has sent a note of warning to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors’ Forum, as he cautioned them against interfering with the forthcoming governorship election in Osun state.
This is coming days after he raised concern over alleged plot by the APC Governors to interfere in the election.
Davido, in a press briefing held on Wednesday, appealed to the chairman of the APC Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, to stop the alleged move.
The singer’s appeal would however be dismissed by Uzodinama who, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Electronic and Creative Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, said Davido should focus on preparing his uncle and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, for life after office rather than directing emotional appeals at him.
Uzodinma further trolled Adeleke as he charged Davido to start making preparation for the signing of his uncle as his new dancer.
In response, the five-time Grammy Awards nominee, took to the stage at the Imole Youth Campaign night rally on Friday night to warn the APC Governors against the alleged planned move to interfere in the election.
He warned of possible revolt from Osun people who he charged to come out and defend their votes on the 15th of August.
‘I will say it again, all the APC governors, if una pack unaself like 100 Osun people will show you something you never think of.
‘On August 15, this is very important. After you vote, count your votes o. Count your votes and count your cards.
‘We will not take any intimidation. We no wan hear go home.’ He said.
Davido further trolled Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who came under fire yesterday after making mockery of Adeleke for his dancing.
Recall that the singer had earlier shared a copy of Okpebholo’s West African Secondary School Certification Examination, WASSCE, results, mocking the governor’s poor academic record.
Davido would again reference to his education as he defended Adeleke’s dancing habit.
‘Where did that one that cannot speak English come from.
‘You don see small money your voice don dey shake again. Anyway, you are talking about my governor. You are talking about his dance. Is there any problem with dancing?’ He asked.
Davido expressed his gratitude to Osun people for their support, stressing that the Adeleke-led administration had equally supported them by living up to its campaign promises.
‘I’m happy that Osun people stood with us and I stand with them.
‘Not only because of Adeleke but because this government has done a good job. All projects we promised, we’ve been delivering it.’ He added.
