Osun-based businesswoman, Yusuf Falilat Arike, popularly known as Ero Arike, has come under fire over her distribution of two kilogrammes of rice to residents of Iragbiji area of the state in demand for their support for the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming election.
Arike, as seen in a video posted on her TikTok handle on Monday, distributed the palliatives to women of the community as she urged them to vote for the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji at the August 15 gubernatorial poll.
Prior to the commencement of the distribution, the businesswoman announced that the rice was donated to the community by Kafayat Oyetola, wife of the former Osun governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola.
‘It is our mother, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola, who donated this rice to us. Politicians are good-hearted. But they like being honoured with little things which attracts bigger reward from them.
‘She said I should share it one per person, but I will make it two.’ She said.
Arike however cursed whoever collects the palliatives without voting for Oyebamiji at the poll as she commenced the distribution.
‘Ensure you cast your vote from Munirudeen Oyebamiji. Anybody who collects our money and food but fail to vote of us will not be successful in life.’ The businesswoman added.
The video had since generated reactions from netizens who slammed Arike over the gesture.
Some netizens also condemned the beneficiaries of the palliative.
