Operatives of the Osun State Police Command have recovered the vehicle allegedly used by the suspected hoodlums who attacked the convoy of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in Osogbo.
NPO Reported that a gang of armed hoodlums had on Wednesday stormed the Ita-Olokan area of Osogbo at about 4 p.m., shortly after Adeleke visited the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, at his palace.
A fierce fire exchange would ensue between the hoodlums and security personnel attached to the governor.
Few hours after the clash, a red Toyota Sienna believed to have been used by the gunmen was reportedly recovered in the Gbeja area, Oke-Baale, Osogbo by the police VCRU TEAM ‘F’ led by CSP Afolabi Lukman.
The Sienna has been impounded for forensic examination as investigations continue into the incident that left a 60-year-old man dead and several others injured.
Video shared on Facebook showed the recovered vehicle which was heavily dented at the front side.
As of Wednesday night, the Police Command said no arrests had been made.
Shortly after the incident, NPO Reports contacted the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, who requested videos of the shooting recorded and posted on X.
