Goods worth billions of Naira have been destroyed as fire outbreak gutted parts of the popular Oranyan Market in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The fire incident reportedly occurred at about 10:30pm on Sunday, razing several shops and other properties belonging to traders.
Videos shared on X showed several rows of shops torched by flames as residents and traders’ panic.
Over 300 shops were claimed to have been affected by the inferno as at Monday morning.
The cause of the fire is however yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
No official statement had also confirmed figures on the number of shops affected, the value of goods destroyed or possible casualties.
