The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial district, Orji Kalu has described the passing of the former President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers and Chief Executive Officer, Premium Eagle Media Limited, Dotun Oladipo, as a personal loss to him.
Kalu while acknowledging the invaluable contributions of the deceased to the media space, stressed that the death of Oladipo was shocking and devastating.
The former Abia state governor described the Eagle Online publisher as a complete gentleman and seasoned journalist.
In a condolence message released by his media office, Kalu recalled his long-standing relationship with the late Oladipo, adding that the late publisher will be remembered for his good works.
The Senator recounted meeting Oladipo through his late father.
“I was devastated when I received the sad news of the demise of the Publisher of the Eagle Online, Mr Dotun Oladipo.
“Oladipo, whom I met through his late father and I had a cordial relationship in his lifetime. He worked closely with my media team and the Sun Publishing Limited in various capacities.
“He was a committed family man and thoroughbred media expert. He was easy going, humble, jovial and kind hearted.
“It is a personal loss. I lost a friend and brother”. He said.
The Senator expressed his condolences to the Oladipo family, the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) and other stakeholders in the media industry.
“I condole with Oladipo’s widow, Taiwo and his children.
“May God grant the departed soul eternal rest and give the Oladipo family the fortitude to bear the sad loss”. He added.
Kalu also extended his condolences to the government and people of Osun state.
