Former Ekiti lawmaker and journalist, Babafemi Ojudu, has debunked the circulation of an old PM Newspaper cover with an headline containing alleged report of the 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, narrating how he was cured of madness.
The now viral newspaper cover page dated Monday 17th of July 2006 contained the headline with Obi’s picture and a sublime which claimed the former Anambra State governor narrated the story while sharing a testimony in church.
Reacting in a statement issued on his Facebook page on Friday, Ojudu diclosed that the page was fabricated.
The former Senator said he was the Group Managing Editor of TheNEWS, P.M. News and TEMPO on the date the actual report was published.
Ojudu affirmed that the original publication was altered by propagandist.
Attsched to the post was a picture of the original publication with the actual news item linked to a confession made by former Minister of Aviation and current Ambassador to South Africa, Femi Fani-Kayode.
“What you are seeing here is fake.
“I was the Group Managing Editor of TheNEWS, P.M. News and TEMPO on the date this was supposedly published.
“I can state categorically that the material was digitally altered by propagandists.
“The one on the left was made up from the one on the right.
“I hope this clarification settles the matter for the many people who have called or written to ask me about it.” Ojudu wrote.
