The Chairman of the governorship campaign council for the All Progressive Congress in Ekiti, Governor Abubakar Bagudu on Tuesday said members of the party should use the state election coming on Saturday as the beginning of election of the candidate of the party in the 2023 presidential poll, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Bagugu, while speaking at the final campaign rally of the party, said the people of the state must honour the APC by electing the candidate of the party, Biodun Oyebanji.
Bagudu said the party looks forward to successful election on Saturday which will usher in “our President in 2023.”
He told the crowd, “There are many reasons Ekiti should do so. Fayemi, our brother, four years ago stood here with President Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governors and we campaigned for Gov Fayemi’s second term and the people honoured us by electing him.
“EKiti must remain in APC’s hold. Ekiti must be the first to contribute to the election of Tinubu so he can continue with the good works of President Buhari.”
Bagudu said the election on Saturday “will be the pointer to the election next year.”
