Scarcity of petroleum products, especially, petrol is biting harder in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and some other major Nigerian cities as queues get longer at filling stations.
NPO Reported on Tuesday that the situation at most of the filling stations were getting more chaotic as queue lengthened for kilometres in Lagos, Abuja and Ibadan.
In Lagos, scenes at the Bovas station, Ojodu showed that consumers had spent as long as four hours at the stations and were still counting.
An attendant who spoke with the NPO Reports on condition of anonymity said it has been hectic controlling those who had come as early as 6am to join the queue.
At the NNPC, Omole, the queue had lengthened up to County Bus Stop, about a kilometer and a half.
Buyers who had thronged the College Road/Yaya Abatan outlet of the NNPC said they had spent about 3 hours on queue with no sign that they would succeed in getting fuel.
At the Total Filling station Alapere, it was a very chaotic situation when NPO Reports correspondent visited Tuesday evening.
Our correspondent who visited the Rano Filling station, Kubwa Road, Abuja said the station was rowdy as only three pumps were working when he visited.
Those who spoke with NPO Reports said the hardship was becoming unbearable adding that government must act fast before the matter degenerates.
Already, the situation has created another market by touts who get the fuel at filling stations and sell at higher prices to desperate users. One of such sighted at the Ketu area of Lagos on Tuesday sold a litre for N300. Along the Molete Road on Tuesday, the sight of touts hawking fuel has become too noticeable.
