National Security Adviser, Others Visit Kuje Prisons

The National Security Adviser Babagana Mungono, has led other security chiefs and top government functionaries to Kuje Prison, Abuja, where terrorists had attacked late Tuesday night.
NPO Reports gathered that Mungono, leading others are to assess the degree of damage to the facilities and the level of attacks.
The Nigerian Correctional Services is yet to come up with the exact number of casualties.
An unspecified number of inmates were said to have escaped from the facility when gunfire and explosives rent the air Tuesday night.
Residents of areas around Kuje Prison said they heard gunshots and sounds of explosions at about 10 pm.
Some inmates were said to be running around the area obviously escaping from the cells.
Mungono is said to be conducted round the scenes by the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa.
