Former Prime Minister of Britain, Boris Johnson, on Monday boasted of having achieved a great deal in his three years as the landlord of the 10 Downing Street.
The former Prime Minister, shortly after his successor was announced listed Brexit, vaccine rollout and others as some of his landmarks in office.
“I have been proud to serve as leader of the Conservative Party for the last three years, winning the biggest majority for decades, getting Brexit done, overseeing the fastest vaccine rollout in Europe and giving vital support to Ukraine,” Johnson said in a tweet on Monday
Congratulating his successor, Liz Truss, Johnson expressed confidence in her ability to steer the ship of state.
Saying Truss had a decisive win over her contenders, Johnson expressed optimism the new PM would “tackle the cost of living crisis, unite our party and continue the great work of uniting and levelling up our country.”
Calling for supporter for her, he added, “Now is the time for all Conservatives to get behind her 100 per cent.”
Delivering her short speech at the parliament on her unveiling, Truss had praised Johnson for his achievements while in office.
Johnson stepped down after scandals arising from alleged indiscretions over Downing street party held during the lockdown.
Since the scandal broke, opposition elements had insisted the former Prime Minister must quit.
