Queen Elizabeth! World Leaders Mourn
Tributes are rolling in in honour of the late Queen of England, Elizabeth II after she was confirmed dead from Buckingham Palace on Thursday evening, ending a 70-year reign.
The news of her passing has drawn many reactions far and wide and from many world leaders.
President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden offered tributes to the late monarch, commending her achievements and diligence through her reign.

Her legacy will loom large in the pages of British history, and in the story of our world.” the statement said
Emmanuel Macron, President of France, also showered the Queen with accolades.
He described the late Queen as “kind-hearted queen” saying, “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II embodied the British nation’s continuity and unity for over 70 years. I remember her as a friend of France, a kind-hearted queen who has left a lasting impression on her country and her century.”
United Kingdom’s new Prime Minister, Liz Truss also joined the royal family in the mourning of the late Queen. This is coming just after few days of meeting the Queen in which she presided over the ceremonial handover of power to the new prime minister from the Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
“Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. Our country has flourished and grown under her reign.
“It is a day of great loss, but Queen Elizabeth II leaves a great legacy,” she said.
UN SECRETARY GENERAL GUTERRES
U.N. Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, eulogized the monarch in his statement, praising her for her dedication and commitment around the world and will also remember her as a good friend.
“As the United Kingdom’s longest-lived and longest-reigning Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II was widely admired for her grace, dignity, and dedication around the world. She was a reassuring presence throughout decades of sweeping change, including the decolonization of Africa and Asia and the evolution of the Commonwealth.”
“Queen Elizabeth II was a good friend of the United Nations, and visited our New York Headquarters twice, more than fifty years apart. She was deeply committed to many charitable and environmental causes and spoke movingly to delegates at the COP26 climate talks in Glasgow.”
EX-US PRESIDENT OBAMA AND WIFE
Former U.S President, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama mourned with the royal family on the passing of the queen, while being grateful to have witnessed her reign.
“Like so many of you, Michelle and I are grateful to have witnessed Her Majesty’s dedicated leadership, and we are awed by her legacy of tireless, dignified public service. Our thoughts are with her family and the people of the United Kingdom at this difficult time.”
The monarch died at the age of 96, making her the longest serving monarch yet to have served the throne.
Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, in his condolence said the story of Britain wont be complete without the late Queen.

“The President welcomes Your Majesty’s ascension to the throne in line with tradition and prays King Charles the Third’s reign will witness the continuing robust and sisterly relations between our two nations.”
INDIAN PRIME MINISTER, MODI
Indian Prime Minister, Nerandi Modi, in his message said he has fond memories of the late monarch.
He said her warmth and love are unforgettable.
“I had memorable meetings with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during my UK visits in 2015 and 2018. I will never forget her warmth and kindness. During one of the meetings she showed me the handkerchief Mahatma Gandhi gifted her on her wedding. I will always cherish that gesture.
“Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered as a stalwart of our times. She provided inspiring leadership to her nation and people. She personified dignity and decency in public life. Pained by her demise. My thoughts are with her family and people of UK in this sad hour.”
