The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has described as “unacceptable” and condemnable, the attempts on the life of the senator representing Anambra South in the Senate, Ifeanyi Ubah.
NPO had earlier reported the attack on the lawmaker along Enugwu-Ukwu road in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State where numbers of security men and aides of the senator were reportedly killed.
Reacting to the attack, the former Anambra State Governor said the attack on the senator noted that government should handle the enhancement of security of Nigerans as a matter of urgency.
He urged the government to use all the machineries available to fish out those responsible for the attack.
He enjoined the Federal and state governments to swiftly swing into action to curb the menace of Insecurity in the country.
“I deeply commiserate with my brother, Senator @Dr_IfeanyiUbah, and extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in this ugly incidence.
“The attack is condemnable and unacceptable. I hereby re-emphasise the urgent need for enhanced security of lives and property in society. I have continued to lay emphasis on the urgent need for enhanced security and protection of life and property in our society.
“Those who engage in these dastardly acts should be fished out swiftly using all machinery available to government, and promptly punished in accordance with our laws.
“I enjoin the Federal and State governments to strenuously strive to to curb the menace of insecurity rampaging our Nation. -PO.”
