Organisers of a rally in support of the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, were on Saturday teargassed by the police in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, in South-East Nigeria.
The supporters had reportedly gathered along the Mile 50 to embark on a rally to canvass support for their candidate but were stopped from going into the streets.
According to report, some persons were said to have sustained injuries while trying to escape from the scene.
In a video seen online, one of the protesters could be seen accusing Governor Dave Umahi of being behind the attack on the Obi supporters.
