The Lagos State Ministry of Education has ordered a temporary closure of Chrisland School, Opebi-Ikeja, following the reported death of a student of the School, Whitney Adeyemi.
A release signed by the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo said the closure was ordered pending the outcome of a full investigation into the incident.
She commiserated with Mr. and Mrs. Adeniran parents of Whitney, and prayed for the repose of her soul.
“We also note the impact of this unfortunate event on family, friends and acquaintance of Whitney and call for calm as we assure that no effort will be spared in investigating the incident”, the Commissioner stated.

The state government has last year also shut Chrisland School after the death of another student Sylvester Oromoni.
Whitney was said to have slumped and died during the school’s inter-house sports at the Agege Stadium last Thursday.
Parents of the girl has cried out and demanded justice.
According to Adeyemi, she handed over to the school a vibrant healthy child, only for the school to return her dead to him.
