Nigerians are pained that queues at filling stations are getting longer by the day as the fuel scarcity bites harder in cities.
A two-day survey by the NPO Reports spanning Monday and Tuesday showed that many fuel stations have closed to consumers either as a result of hoarding or outright lack of stock.
NPO Reports observed the pathetic situations in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan Osogbo, Sagamu and Abeokuta where motorists had stayed on queues for as long as four hours and even more.
At the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos, NPO Reports noticed long queues at Bovas Station, near the Federal Road Safety Corps office. The queue, which had lengthened up to Zenith Bank had created a traffic logjam from Berger Bus Stop creating confusion for those traveling inward Omole area.
At the opposite side, despite the fact that the Oando Station, which is located some 200 metres away from Bovas, was not selling fuel as the gate was locked, it was a long queue that started from the station till Grammar School Bus Stop area.
At Omole, the NNPC filling station had created a very long stretch of queue towards Ogba with many car owners seeking safety under trees and other buildings because of the sun.
In Ibadan, filling stations that have fuel along the Iwo Road axis of the metropolis had created huge traffic jam leaving many to trek as an option.
