CrownHill University (CHU) Eyenkorin, Ilorin, has announced that it has kicked off its comprehensive staff screening and audit exercise early week.
This was made known in a statement which was made available to the NPO Reports on Saturday, stating that it was aimed at restructuring the institution for staff productivity, and resource allocation to keep the institution abreast of the competition in the technology driven world.
“This very first in a series of measures aimed at restructuring and repositioning the University for optimal staff productivity, resource allocation and application so that the University can keep on producing quality graduates who can hold their own in today’s competitive and technology driven world.”
The program was headed by the Chairman, Board of Trustee of the institution, Prof, Ayodele Soladoye with a charge to the University management to walk the talk by acting appropriately and urgently on the outcome and recommendations of the committee.
In his opening remarks at the event which held at the Council Chambers of the University, Prof. Soladoye declared his absolute confidence in the Screening and Audit Committee judging by the calibre, experience and antecedents of its members.
The committee comprised Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji, former Vice – Chancellor, Al Hikmah University,Ilorin and Federal University of Technology Minna as Chairman. Other members are Mrs Oluronke Adeyemi, a Legal Practitioner ; Mr ‘Dere Munirudeen Abiodun, former Deputy Bursar, Unilorin; Mr Musliudeen Adegoke, former Deputy Registrar, Unilorin; Dr. Quadri Olaide Nurudeen, Al Hikmah University and Mr. Shuaibu Ajibola Muhammed, former Registrar, Kwara State University Malete.
The Chairman, Screening Committee, Prof. Musbau Akanji , thanked the Chairman of the BOT for the confidence reposed in the committee. He promised that the committee will not betray the trust by delivering on its terms of reference.
He was of the opinion that this exercise in self examination is urgently needed as a first step in right sizing and ensuring that round pegs are actually in round holes so that staff productivity can be optimized.
The Vice – Chancellor CrownHill University (CHU) Prof Jeleel Olasunkanmi Ojuade thanked the members of the Committee for accepting to serve unconditionally despite the short notice and given their busy schedules.
He conveyed the appreciation of the Chancellor and new owner of the University, Arole Oodua Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife to members of the committee. He noted that this exercise, which he dubbed ‘the dawn of a new beginning’ is in fulfillment of his promise on 23rd January 2023 on the occasion of his Inaguration as the third Vice – Chancellor of the University.
He assured all members of staff of the University that the exercise was not to witch-hunt, humiliate, embarrass and or harrass anyone but to start the University on a clean note.
He allayed their fears and demonstrated humility in leadership and implicit confidence in the Committee by submitting himself to be screened and audited by the committee.
