The Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed collation after controversies surrounding the exercise.
Some agents had stormed out of the hall on Tuesday after disagreements over the failure of the commission to upload the results of the election electronically.
Chairman of the commission Prof Mahmud Yakubu, in his opening remarks promised that the commission would review issues surrounding the conduct of the election and make necessary adjustments.
His submission came after representatives of the Inter-Party Advisory Council said the INEC should continue with the collation regardless of what those who had walked out said.
Presidential candidates of the Zenith Labour Party Dan Nwuanyawu, who also spoke in the same tone with the IPAC chairman, said the country cannot afford to waste the gains of the election conducted with BIVAS.
He said no one should encourage Nigerians to protest adding that the election has produced some gains which cannot be ignored.
“We cannot pull down this roof. There is no problem with the BIVAS. I voted and BIVAS worked.
“Nobody should come and tell us to be on the streets to destroy our country.
“There are many gains of this election. This is the same election where an Okada rider won election to the House of Representatives. This is the same election where Senator Ekwunife who had built houses for widows lost.
This is the same election where party chairman lost in his unit. This is the election where three governors lost senatorial elections; one third of the state they govern, they could not win.”
