Governor of Osun, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, on Tuesday prostrated for the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in what was their first encounters since Adeleke became the Governor of Osun. Both Aregbesola and Adeleke met in Ilesa where the Minister came around to open the Ilesa Passport Office, one of the new outlets to ease passport administration in the country.
The Governor, who arrived shortly after his Deputy, went straight on the ground to greet Aregbesola who however moved forward to stop the Governor from his action. Both of them then hugged firmly while exchanging pleasantries.
Adeleke became Governor last year after defeating incumbent Gboyega Oyetola, who had fallen out with his predecessor, Aregbesola. The internal crisis with the then ruling All Progressive Congress had polarised the party into the Ileri Oluwa and The Osun Progressives camps. Apart from Oyetola losing his reelection, the party has lost all three senatorial seats, nine federal House of Representatives seats and 25 out of 26 House of Assembly seats in the state.
