*Says Creative Sector Holds Great Potential
Popular Nigerian economist and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu has taken to his Twitter platform to share photos of a concert hosted by Nigerian Musician, Davido at The O2 Arena in London which he attended with his daughter.
Elumelu, who is the Chairman of Heirs Holdings and the brain behind the Tony Elumelu Foundation, expressed his satisfaction with the growth of the entertainment sector in his tweet.
“The 20k Arena was filled up, same arena Wizkid Ayo’s recent concert got sold out within minutes for three nights. The creative sector has such global coverage and appeal that it is now one of our strongest exports and brand projections.”
Commending the efforts of young Nigerians, he stated, “Our creatives are strongly contributing towards the economic development of Nigeria. Young Nigerians are generally talented and hardworking. I am optimistic that with the right leadership, we will overcome joblessness and poverty.”
Davido had pulled a huge crowd on Saturday night at an event that drew the creme de la crème of the Nigerian entertainment sector.
