Speaking with the NPO Reports on the matter on telephone Sunday afternoon, an official of the government said journalists should await an official response to the matter.
In a letter signed by the Director General of the Lagos state Public Procurement Agency, Mr. Onafowote Fatai Idowu, which was addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, it conveyed to the Ministry that there was no objection to the proposed sum of N61, 285,000 which was to be spent for the burial of the victims.
The letter, which is already being circulated online, was titled “Letter of No Objection: Mass Burial for the 103 Year 2020 ENDSARS Victims.” The letter was dated July 19, 2023. Generating comments and condemnations, the Labour Party in Lagos state already alleged that the company to which the burial was awarded to TOS Funerals, belongs to a close ally of President Bola Tinubu.
