Concerned Nigerians have been showing love and prayers on actress, Kemi Afolabi after her disclosure that she has only five more years to live.
The actress had on Friday, disclosed in an interview that she has an incurable ailment Lupus, which she said doctors have confirmed will terminate her life in the next four years.
The actress had disclosed that the illness has cost her a lot, adding that she had to sell some of her properties.
She revealed that the doctor broke the news to her a year ago and she does not know how long she has left.
Afolabi, who quoted her doctor, said, “Make sure you are with your loved ones. At least, you still have up to five years to live.”
“I have lupus. It’s not curable. I just have to take medications for the rest of my life,” she said.
But moved by the revelation, Afolabi, has been the prayer point of many as they pray to God to set aside the verdict of medics and give her more life.
One of those who have given Afolabi hope is the chairman of Okiki Films, Esan Sunday.
Sunday urged Afolabi to get over the doctors advice and be hopeful of many more years ahead of her.
Making reference to the scriptures, Sunday said, “You will always have reasons to smile my darling, the God that parted the Red Sea is still the same…We reject the doctors’ verdict and hold tightly to God’s promises in Psalms 118:17-18 that “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.”
A fellow actress, Ronke Oshodioke, in her own admonition, assured the actress that she would live long.
She wrote, “No matter what the devil’s plans are, God has a say over your destiny.
I pray that almighty Allah grants you complete healing and live a long, full and wealthy life till you’re old and grey.”
More Nigerians are taking to the social media to pray for Afolabi and give her more hopes that she will live longer than the predicted time.
