Nigerians students are to spend at least another two months at home as the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU in the early hours of Monday extended its warning strike.
NPO had reported earlier that the Union said the strike continuation was inevitable.
The union’s decision was reached after its National Executive Committee meeting which ran from Sunday evening to the early morning of Monday.
It was held at the University of Abuja.
The union is expected to make official statement concerning this new development today.
ASUU had commenced the one-month warning strike last month with a view to getting the Federal Government to accede to its requests over payment of pending arrears and the revatilisation of the universities.
Just on Sunday, the Federal Government it would not negotiate with the union under duress.
