The Church of Christ has instructed one of its member, Emeka Elumezie to cut his dreadlock or desist from attending worship at the church.
This was contained in a statement signed by the management of the church.
The church stated that his appearance does not align with the Christian standard of one who has been baptized.
Also, the statement noted despite efforts to advise and admonish Elumezie on his appearance to the church, he has refused to take heed.
“As someone who has come In contact with the Truth and has been baptized in this congregation, we find it disappointing that you have failed to live up to the Christian standard in your appearance (icor 11:14, Romans 12:12).
“More so, the Church finds it disappointing that we have engaged with you severally, preached to you, and even advised on your appearance to Church, and yet you have ignored and disregarded all.”
The statement further urged Elumezie to comply with the instructions of the church in order to worship at the church.
“Based, on the above the Church is issuing this letter to you as compliance mandate, to cut and maintain a decent haircut henceforth, in order to attend and worship with us.
“If you cannot comply with this, then it is of no use coming to worship with us as the Church can no longer tolerate you in such indecent haircut.”
