A popular Islamic preacher and scholar, Sheikh Sulaiman Farooq Onikijapa has said it is a matter of time for the feud between President Bola Tinubu and his loyalist, Rauf Aregbesola to come to an end.
Onikijipa said when the truth is out, both political soulmates would come together.
Speaking at the 8th day fidau of another preacher who passed on last week, Sheikh Abdulwahab Banni Afonta, Onikijipa said Aregbesola is a representative of Islam in politics noting that despite being a politician of note, he never allowed his Islam to wane.
“The relationship between you and your boss and father, I pray Almighty God to mend it. You accepted him as your boss and father, but sometimes the devil does come in between.
“But one thing that is certain is that you can turn lies to truth, no one can turn truth to lie. It might take time, but the truth will surely prevail.
“I pray Almighty Allah will mend the relationship and place you above the wicked beings.”
Speaking of the former Minister of Interior as a true Muslim who used politics to advance the course of his faith, the preacher said, “He said, “Aregbesola is the representative of Muslims and Alfas in politics. He is someone who engages in politics and doesn’t allow politics to take him away from Islam.
“He always has time for Almighty Allah and he stood by Islam. May Almighty Allah continue to be with him.
NPO Reports that Tinubu and Aregbesola’s relationship became strained after his exit from office as Governor of Osun succeeded by Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola. Believe that Oyetola’s alleged reversal of many of the programmes and policies of the Aregbesola era, abandonment of some projects and others led to disagreement between Aregbesola and Oyetola.
The crisis had reached its head in the build up to the re-election of Oyetola as the party split into two each faction led by Aregbesola and Oyetola.
It was gathered while the Aregbesola faction believed that the party needed cohesion and not divisiveness ahead of the election, the Oyetola faction was said to have insisted the Aregbesola faction was not needed to win the election.
The crack in the party paved the way for the current Governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party.
