Nigeria will miss the services of injured Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi who was replaced by the Royal Antwerp man Alhassan Yusuf.
The latest blow for coach Jose Peseiro is an injury to Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface who has now paved the way for OGC Nice star Terem Moffi to return to the Super Eagles squad.

In this edition of Afcon, the Super Eagles have been placed in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
The Afcon fixtures
Peseiro’s men will start their campaign on Sunday, January 14 against Equatorial Guinea at the Olympique Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
They will, afterward, play Ivory Coast at the same venue four days later before winding up their group stage assignments against Guinea-Bissau on January 24.
Ademola Lookman has been influential for Atalanta in Serie A; in the 18 league matches he has played, the winger has managed to find the back of the net seven times and provided three assists in the process. He might be Nigeria’s standout performer at Afcon.
While Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen is definitely the main man in the team and he has seven goals and two assists in 13 Serie A matches for Napoli.
The world-class striker will, however, rely on the likes of creative attacker Alex Iwobi to get scoring chances.
The Super Eagles have played in 20 Afcon editions, and have been crowned three times – 1980, 1994 and 2013.
The West African nation finished second in 1984, 1988, 1990, and 2002. They have won bronze on eight occasions.
