Governor of Osun, Senator Ademola Adeleke has expressed regrets over Tuesday’s road crash that claimed the lives of some school children and others.
In a statement by Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson of the Governor, the Governor was taken aback by the tragic incident at the state capital.
Saying the Governor “is deeply hurt by the news of the death of some school students and another citizen from a fatal accident” he quoted the governor as reiterating the call on users of road to exercise caution and adhere strictly to safety guidance on roads.
He said the State Government under him will work with relevant authorities to make roads safer for users.
The statement also quoted the Governor as commending emergency responders for providing prompt assistance adding that the Governor declared the willingness of his administration to continue to pursue efforts to guide against an experience like this.
“I am distraught to hear about the terrible accident that resulted in the death of five people in Osogbo due to a fatal accident while five other people sustained injuries of varying degrees.
“It is really painful for me, and I want to use this avenue to commiserate with the families of the deceased,” Governor Adeleke noted.
“It is my prayer that God Almighty repose their souls and give their loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses occasioned by their death.
“As a government, we will give the needed support to the injured and pray for their quick recoveries.” The statement concluded
