A former Fuji sensation, Alhaji Isiaka Iyanda Sawaba, has died.
NPO had Reported two weeks ago that Sawaba was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan in the early hours after he allegedly slumped in his house.
There had been controversy over the inability of the family of the late musician to quickly raise funds for his treatment.
The authorities of the hospital later ensure adequate care was taken of him.
It was gathered that Sawaba died in the early hours of today.
Sawaba was in Lagos on March 16 at the first colloquium in honour of the late Fuji maestro, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
Commenting on the death of Sawaba, former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo State, Adebayo Ojo, wrote, “Adieu my Great Brother, my Senior friend, my Confidant and my Gist Partner- Arileyanka Olokunola Isiaka Iyanda Sawaba omo Abisodun.
“May Allah (swt) in His majesty and infinite mercies accept your homecoming, forgive your shortcomings, uphold the family and all that you left behind and grant you aljannah fridaus in this glorious month of Ramadan and forever.
“Your sudden demise is a collosal setback to the historical book that I am writing ” The life and time of Mr. Fuji and the Doctor of Music – A well -earned and well Doctorate and OFR” because you are not only an encyclopedia of the growth and development of Fuji Music but you are unarguably a repository of the history of Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister ,OFR.
