The Nigeria Labour Congress has told the Senate President Godswill Akpabio that he knows who the real saboteurs of the Nigerian economy are.
The Congress took exception to Akpabio’s allegations that workers are saboteurs for the manner they have executed their the ongoing national strike.
In a statement released by the Congress, which was signed by Benson Upah who is the head of Information of the NLC, he said the workers won’t succumb to what he called subtle threats by the senate president.
“Such accusations are baseless deeply troubling for Nigerian patriots and democracy advocates,”
the statement said.
He said the strike initiated on June 3 was in response to the failure of the government to conclude negotiations on the minimum wage dispute, reverse the high electricity tariffs and what it called “discriminatory tariffs classifications.”
