The Federal Road Safety Corps has returned over N1 million to the family of man who died in crash at Abuja.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Corps on their official X handle on Friday.
FRSC had invited relatives of late Najeem Abiodun Babalola to collect the money and other valuables recovered from the deceased who died in fatal crash on the 11th of June along the Abuja Airport Junction- Giri route.
The FCT Sector Corps Commander, Chorie Mutaa, presented the sum of one million and thirty four thousand, ten Naira only and other valuables which include two POS Machines, five ATM cards, one mobile phone amongst others, to the mother of the deceased in the presence of other family members.
According to the statement, the crash which involved a Lexus 350 salon car and two motorcycles claimed the lives of Najeem and two others.
The victims were confirmed dead at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.
Najim’s family expressed their gratitude to the Sector Commander and his team over their honesty.
While commiserating with the family, Mutaa commending the Abuja Unit Commander and his team that went for the rescue mission.
He, however, highlighted the need for motorists and pedestrians to always obey traffic rules and regulations.
The statement read in part, “The Sector Commander RS7.1 FCT, Corps Commander Chorie Mutaa presented the sum of one million and thirty four thousand, ten Naira only and other valuables to the mother of late Mr Najeem Abiodun Babalola in the presence of other family members.
“Mr Najeem was a victim of a fatal crash that occured on Tuesday 11 June, 2024 at about 50 meters away from Iddo Sabo U-turn along the Abuja Airport junction – Giri route.
“The crash which involved a Lexus 350 salon car and two motorcycles claimed the lives of Najeem and two others.
“The victims were confirmed dead at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, after a rescue team of Abuja Airport Unit Command who went for rescue, recovery and traffic management took them to the hospital.”
