Arsenal has secured a hard-earned three points in a tough 2-0 away win against Aston Villa in week two of the 2024/2025 English Premier League season.
The North London club travelled to the Villa Park in a face-off against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side.
Both sides failed to find the back of the net at halftime.
Mikel Arteta’s would, however, manage to break the deadlock as Bukayo Saka’s 67th minute cross met second-half sub, Leonard Trossard, who headed the ball past Aston Villa’s goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez.
Aston Villa tried to pull a leveller but were unable to breakthrough Arsenal’s watertight defense.
The Gunners sealed the win in the 77th minute as Ghanaian international, Thomas Partey, latched home a screamer outside the box eighteen to make it 2-0.
Meanwhile, Arsenal maintained their dominance in the game as they amassed 61 percent ball possession and recorded four shots on target.
