Nigerian-British politician, Kemi Badenoch, has received backlash following her announcement of the 2030 campaign launch.
The Conservative MP, North West Essex, made the announcement via her verified X handle, @KemiBadenoch, on Sunday.
“Tomorrow, I launch my @renewal2030 campaign to be the next leader of our great Conservative Party. Join me at 11.00am, here on X!”
However, this announcement has gathered wide criticisms and backlash.
@Sargon_of_Akkad questionned,
“So, Badenoch is basically running a feminist campaign.”
@welshroots said,
“Surely we cant have a opposition leader like Kemi badenoch who Hacks Computers She must be a SECURITY RISK”
@relish_handy wrote,
“The sad thing is, Kemi thinks a Party which has racists in it (which can be well evidenced with a quick Google and I therefore do not need to add “allegedly”) would ever vote for a Black woman as a leader.
“It’s really really sad, even though I don’t agree with her politically, I do still feel sorry for her due to this.”
@sebserlo stated,
“No no no no no no no! We do not want fights with actors and grand standing. If you cannot be serious and actually listen to the concerns of voters and attempt not to make it all about you then you should just drop out now. Completely ridiculous person.”
@CorkyMrC quizzed,
“Your great Conservative Party? What is this? Great in what way? Great at lying? Losing? Gaslighting? Corruption? Incompetence? Egotism? Populism? Denial? Selfservatism?”
“No, you are a bigot that has done and said terrible things to the detriment of the LGBTQ+ community. I would saw off a limb before I’d ever vote for you for anything. You have betrayed every centrist, decent One Nation Conservative. You are why the party is where it is. Just no.” @bydarrenstyles said.
